We're a volunteer-led, foster-based rescue. Everyone contributes their time and skills in different ways to keep the rescue running and support hamsters and their adopters.

Kitty co-founded Fable's and helps oversee the rescue's day-to-day work, from supporting adopters and surrendering owners, to keeping the practical side of the rescue running.

Shelaine co-founded Fable's and helps coodinate rescue operations, supporting hamsters and people throughout the surrender, foster and adoption journey.

Charlotte supports the day-to-day running of Fable's, responding to general enquiries and helping owners and adopters with hamster care questions.

Megan helps create clear, accessible educational resources that make good hamster care easier to understand and put into practice.

Caitlin joined Fable’s in January 2026 and has a particular love for female Syrians. She embraces their big personalities and provides patient, attentive care tailored to each hamster.
Vivien

Vivien is an experienced fosterer with a particular talent for caring for elderly hamsters. She provides the patience, comfort and attentive support they need to thrive in their later years.
Roxàne
Foster Volunteer · Leicestershire
Roxàne joined Fable’s in July 2026 after first adopting from the rescue. She now helps other hamsters begin their own journeys towards safe, loving forever homes.

Research & Nutrition Volunteer
Kat researches hamster welfare and nutrition, helping ensure our advice and educational content remains thoughtful, practical and evidence-led.

Lauren joined Fable’s in 2025 and adores hamsters of every species. She provides each foster hamster with a caring, enriching home while helping them prepare for their next chapter.
