Volunteer With Us

We are excited to announce that we are currently seeking dedicated fosterers within a one-hour travel radius of Northamptonshire. If you have a passion for hamsters and can provide a loving, temporary home, we would love to hear from you. Your support can make a significant difference in the lives of those in need. Join us in making a positive impact for hamsters!​

Why foster with Fable?

Fable's is a small, friendly team based across Northamptonshire, Buckinghamshire and Bedfordshire. We are exclusively a foster-based rescue, so without our dedicated team of fosterers, we would not be able to help hamsters as we do. The team is to here to provide support whether you are new to fostering or a seasoned hamster carer.​

What fostering costs are covered by Fable?

  • We partially cover setup expenses for Bedding, Sand and species-specific food.

  • We pay 28p per mile for the delivery and collection of hamsters for adoption and surrender purposes.

  • All veterinary costs are fully covered.

Fostering Requirements

If you are considering fostering with Fable here are our requirements.​

​

  • Minimum 100 x 50 x 50 cm enclosure. 

  • Must be within 1 hour's distance of Northamptonshire.

  • You must be over the age of 18 years.

  • Homeowners' permission to have the animal(s) on the premises.

  • Access and ability to get to an exotic vet if needed.

  • Ability to access and update info sheets via the Google Drive.

  • A good understanding of hamster care - all current hamsters should be housed to our adoption standards.
